Thank You God Poem by sholadoye Dada

Thank You God

Rating: 4.0

Waking up in the morning
Standing on both feet daily, paying no money
From A through Z, I have been so mucky
So difficult licking honey
Yet, I’ll not mind hailing your name amidst mockery

Living on this planet like thugs
Every time hustling like dogs
Drinking wickedness as water from mugs
With daily breads sopping in fogs
Yet, feeling God is like being on the rugs

All I’ve got to do is to light celebration
After going through some contemplation
Got boys to take to concentration
Got girls to compel to exaltation
Every nation to resist adulteration

If for nothing, for thy word
Walking through valley of the dead in this world
Full of afflictions even in my ward
Facing tribulations higher than Jericho wall
My endurance is still thy word

Lasting till night all through from morning
Unexplainably, I separate from thugs
Singing the days’ setbacks in celebration
Just from the strength I got from thy word
At revelation, I’ll no longer inch on my knee

Every day, I lap before you on my knee
My sky and possessions grow blue and green
Just as my world has become clean
I gaze with curiosity, the next day with a sight that is keen
Unaware! I became a queen
