There is one person in the world of my life
whose love and devotion I know I can claim,
and though at times I seem to deny
I know that your love for me is the same.

Your genuine love, oh who would dare,
to determine or measure what it is worth.
There is no one that will ever compare
to you who put me right here on this earth.

There's only you who keeps me so warm
on a path truly righteous so as not to stray.
Enabling me to weather the storm
when I am reckless and lose my way,

You're the formidable pillar I clung to
in times of frustration and of despair,
and never failed to respond to my call,
despite the flaws and faults that I bear.

You protected me from the rigors of life
that at times were overbearing to me,
without your love and motherly guidance,
I know not where or what I would be.

Despite the personal and worldly problems
Confronting my life that will never flee,
I truly know within the depth of my heart
I bear an everlasting love of thee.

There is one person in the world every day,
whose love and devotion I know I have claimed,
and through all the times, every single last fray,
I know that your love for me is the same.
