Thanksgiving Epiphany Poem by Walterrean Salley

Thanksgiving Epiphany

Rating: 5.0

It was a rough year,
Nothing went right.
Dreams shattered,
Plans went awry.

Pain. Heartache.
Brokenness. Tears.
Prayer had fallen
On deaf ears.

But entering the crux
Of the Holiday Season,
I pondered Thanksgiving—
For purpose and reason.

And it made me consider
Everything—
That chance and destiny
Could possibly bring.

Then, I saw …
In a brand new light:
Changed my perspective—
No longer uptight.

There’s more to life
Than the eye can see;
What a Thanksgiving
That was for me.
