That Broken Arrow Poem by Dale Barnes

That Broken Arrow

Hear me.
Hear my words.
I need to be heard.
While my voice,
Is still seasoned with reason.

Ask me.
Ask me anything.
I need questions.
As truthful answers are the,
Only cure for Melancholy.

Remember me.
Remember the wonder.
I need to be remembered.
My picture will…
Never replace those moments in time.

Need me.
Need my arms.
I need to be in your arms.
Wherever a sunset lives,
Mine will be open for you.

Talk to me.
Talk to my heart.
I need to hear.
Before your words,
Only echo in space.

Pour water on me.
Pour water on my soul.
I need to be clean.
Before my ashes,
Bother the Earth again.

Kiss me.
Kiss my face.
I need a kiss.
For in the end,
It is what I will miss.

Love me.
Love my way.
I need your love.
Or at least remove,
That broken arrow from my heart.
