That Everyone Have Their Life Choices Poem by Francis Duggan

That Everyone Have Their Life Choices

The Homeless, the Poor and the Stateless don't tell me that this is their due
They too have their dreams like all others though their dreams for them do not come true
You tell me people have life choices at least that is what you imply
Yet circumstance of birth is a factor and that to many does apply
That some people in their lives have choices that does sound as reasonable to me
But that life choices apply to everybody with that I could never agree
Your ideas of life far from accurate and though for all you believe in fair play
That everyone have their life choices does not seem such a wise thing to say
That everyone have their life choices your statement just doesn't seem right
For those born to disadvantage life always seems a losing fight
Exclude the word everyone from your statement and use the word some in it's place instead
For those born to disadvantage a hard life for them lay ahead
That everyone have their life choices with this I for one can't agree
The hill of success seems much steeper for those born to poverty.
