That Fateful Day

Daylight turns to purple dust,
The butterflies have all retired—
I dream of you, the one I must
Return to, burning with desire!

Someday soon we’ll humbly dwell
Within each other’s arms, and then
The waters of our love will swell
And surge with passion once again!

I miss you more than words can say,
More than crying eyes let on,
Waiting for that fateful day,
Dawn’s golden light upon our lawn…
