That Girl Poem by Lacey UnKnown

That Girl

She approaches the world in a well-designed mask
She wears a smile so no one will ask
She wants to keep all the pain a secret
So she covers it quickly in a thick dark blanket
But when she's alone it surfaces fast
Hitting her hard, an explosive blast
She cries til there are no more tears
But still she feels all the horrible fears
The fears that keep her from the things she loves
Who is this girl, you may be wondering
She is the girl you pass in the hall at school
You saw the fake smile and played the fool
She is the girl who sits behind you in class
You pretend not to listen as she mumbles under her breath
She mutters of pain and love she's lost
She whispers of lonliness and those who don't care
She is the girl who goes home to cry herself to sleep
To put it simply that girl is me.
