That Girl Has Flown Poem by Richard Dave Luison

That Girl Has Flown

Rating: 5.0

Once in my life
I have loved a girl.
Gave her the best of me
Love her unreservedly.

Yet, my love for her
she did not appreciate.
She has taken me for granted
left me for reason unknown to me.

Then, i have come to wonder
Where have i have gone wrong?
Where have i have fallen short?
Is the love i have given her not enough?
Is my love for her naught?

Then, i was reminded
That if i truly love a girl
I must set her free.
Yet, reality bites.

Indeed, it is easier said than done.

Wherever you are now
Wish you're happy
For that's how our life ought to be.
You, leaving me is a decision i respect.
For loving as i have known is:
Letting go and letting be.
