That Lesson Poem by charlotte harris

That Lesson

Trying to forget,
But the scars stand strong.
Wishing I could go back,
Just to change it,
But I don't think it would change much,
Because you can't stop the inevitable,
And I should never really have hoped,
Because I was always going to be let down,
But that's a lesson I'll never forget,
And maybe oneday,
Someone like you will understand,
The value of that lesson.
