That's Why I Cry When It Rains Poem by Katie Champeau

That's Why I Cry When It Rains

Here I am, once again.
I can barely hear the beating of my heart.
I keep your memories near,
even though I'm falling apart.

Even in my shame,
my heart and thoughts are still the same.
I have wandered through the pouring rain,
re-living your memory and calling your name.

The day becomes darker
and the pain hits me harder.
And that's why I cry,
when it rains.

(When it rains)

You could have stopped it all,
and never let me fall,
but you just left me in the rain.

As I watched you turn away,
I was screaming your name.
Now I'm standing here cringing,
with the pain that keeps stinging.
And that's why I cry when it rains.
