The late Dr. Cheddi B. Jagan, former Executive
President of Co-operative Republic of Guyana,
in South-America, who has pivoted and gave birth
to a democratic-nation': -

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
He had revealed himself, in Guyana, to us,
as our mediator between poverty and success.
He had walked and he had talked with us,
as our heroic and nationalistic comforter to bless.

He was magnificent, efficient and diligent,
he spoke inspired words, with intelligence.
Not of his lips, which his tongue could not express,
for us to know, that he was the one who possess.

To lead and to free us out of the British Empire,
which he was so determined with ambitious desire.
With humility and simplicity, he embraced us,
he consolidated us, in his loving and tender arms.

Around our shoulders, he hugged us close to his heart,
as if from Holland, he did not want for us to part.
Displayed such gesture, with human's moral love,
with blessings from above, alike the sinless dove.

For us to heed, as flocks of sheep, with unity and dignity,
to follow him as the 'father of our nation' into prosperity.
Sovereignty to our nation, was his real name to motivation,
starvation, which was in our country, must have elimination.

Before I was born,

His name was meaningful and fruitful with adorations,
from citizens around the world to all poorest nations.
Filled with joy and laughter, he was indeed our father,
and his blessed wife, is our God sent earthly mother.

He was sent into Guiana, to prepare me my freedom,
from England, known to be the United Kingdom.
Guiana, was a colony and a country of despair,
where my comrade leader was chosen to be there.

The world has looked on him, with transparent sight,
In spite of his plight, he did not give up his fight.
He was humiliated, disowned and forsaken,
when he and his wife were thrown into prison.

Did that had any reason?

Ask the British, who were so selfish,
blemish among themselves to perish.
As tyrant, they sought more to accomplish,
injustice to humanity, now craving to parish.

Oh no! of course not! , no reason at all,
as they have chained our leader in jail.
They refused to free or to grant him bail,
knowingly, our leader had left a track to trail.

Our leader, was like a rolling and a bumping ball,
with the hammering and battering of injustice.
Such the British Empire, will soon crawl and bawl,
on their hands and knees, they would chill as ice.

But who cares, to bare and to share with such a game,
'the PNC', of course! was having their shares to fame.
Without shame, they lamed to walk upright and to look,
with steadfastness, in reality of this writing in my book.

From the society, he was locked away all alone,
behind bars, closed steel doors and in a lonely cell.
For the world to tell his innocence, in days to come,
as in reality, I am writing this day of the outcome.

In a country and an Empire, he have had much desire,
to liberate and to free us, was his intention to acquire.
His sacrifices and determinations, for us to remember,
where he did not give up his fight or to surrender.

A nation of confusion, stagnation and corruption,
were all of their interests to abide as one motion.
To suppress and exploit, manipulate and destroy,
our interests of freedom were not there to employ.

Our great leader, had to display his positive action,
to free us from the Burnhamites and the colonialists.
Though he was in a cell, we have had many options,
with unity, as one nation, we denied the imperialists.

From his cell, his voices echoed the atmosphere,
he cried to his people, 'be not deceived or despair.
There are hopes to live here and not to wander,
they all would be eliminated, craving to surrender'.

Guyana, is our land of origin, sovereignty and dream,
'I assure you, such will not sail down the stream.
Guyana, our beautiful land and nation of six races,
will remain the heritage of all ages and happy faces.'

Our garden city, 'Georgetown' will remain our hope town,
not like Jones town, which today, has become a ghost town.
Freedom and enrichment, we will have to serve our nation,
as one people, one nation, we uphold such possession.

Since he had created his People Progressive Party,
he sought ambitiously to integrate nations in unity.
With a regime of illiteracy, hypocrisy and stupidity,
he displayed morality with efficiency and consistency.

In nineteen seventy three, our Mahatma had said to me,
'the world will see' that our election, was neither fair
nor free.
We have to expose the PNC regime and government abroad,
giving to them, their own tastes of sour and salted bread.

I have boarded a ship and sailed to a distant land far ahead,
where I have settled in my father's country, called Suriname.
Intention to give my country recognition, with a new name,
and to boost reputation as potential Guyanese on our head.

With one determination, we must have a new administration,
to lead our nation out from malnutrition and starvation.
Democracy and national reconciliation, were our aims,
to achieve such non-violently, humanly, without shame.

For twenty eight years, he was silence with patience,
non-violence was his name, portraying endurance.
With compassion and love, he displayed obedience,
to humanity, in our country to gain independence.

Recently and in reality, the 'father of our nation, '
has re-gained democracy, in our country with motion.
As a free nation from the colonialist and imperialists,
and from a dictator, whom claimed to be a socialist.

We are a free nation, ready to achieve our prosperity,
with a democratic state, we have reclaimed sovereignty.
We are ready now to eliminate and to alleviate poverty,
in our poor country, with unity for a better economy.

Our comrade leader, will always be our Excellency,
his destiny to bold, with sound and profound proficiency.
He has always be known, as the disciple of harmony,
with his revelation to our freedom and solitude to victory.

Cheddi Bharrat Jaganji, was our Guyanese Mahatma,
who had transited this world for the better world to come.
He is and still alive in the dept of our hearts,
with love, and affection for him, though we are far apart.

His works of this world, has been fully completed,
where ever we Guyanese are, we have to be united.
And must say thanks be to God where ever we go,
that life for us in Guyana, has made us simple-ego.

I can sit, to write and to write about my comrade leader,
who had guided me to life, without constrained wonder.
I wished he was alive today, to lead us into his pasture,
as my thoughts of him, coming back with much laughter.

Faithful sons and daughters of our time in our land,
to whom our comrade leader, has left in good hands.
He has left fellow disciples, to administer our country,
to rear a young nation and to safe-guard our boundary.

One of our faithful and young son, is wearing his hat,
to lead our nation into prosperity and further else what.
He is talented with intelligence and very much ambitious,
vibrant and energetic with motions to be prosperous.

The so called regime and associates are still on their move,
to re-capture poverty and set square plugs in round groves.
'Not a chance' said the faithful son of our nation,
your administration, gave to us malnutrition and starvation.

Progress, Prosperity and Peace, our country must endure,
to the end of time, which our father has left for us to secure.
We would protect our inheritance, as we are well mature,
to defend our integrity and be blessed with mother's nature.

His Excellency, Bharrat Jagdeo, is our chosen son of today,
to capture all attention and to seize our concern to obey.
He is the father of our nation and the son of our generation,
we as his children, much to care, giving us love and affection.
