The Aeroplane Poem by Pete Rivera

The Aeroplane

Rating: 5.0

And I found myself
Alone in the dark
Mending my broken heart
But didn't know where to start
So I let myself fall apart

And soon enough
I couldn't breathe
Couldn't take it upon myself to leave
Now I'm stuck with no relief
What a cruel idea I've conceived

In a moment it crashed
For it had flown much too fast
It caught our eye but we didn't see
We truly weren't meant to be

And soon enough
We turned away
With a chill not of love
But of hate
And I couldn't help but say
What happened that day?

In a moment it crashed
For it had flown much too fast
It caught our eye but we didn't see
We truly weren't meant to be

It's gone in a heartbeat
Forever lost within our abyss of misery
I feel no emotion around you
I look away because
Because seeing you hurts me
I thought I could change you
But I was wrong
So wrong..

In a moment it crashed
For it had flown much too fast
It caught our eye but we didn't see
We truly, truly..weren't meant to be
