The Agony Of A Wanderer Poem by Saliu Muideen

The Agony Of A Wanderer

The Agony of A Wandering Child
In a cracky shabby wacky little corner
Lies the poor little boy
Begging for something to eat
And none seem to take a notice
Of the helpless little kid

He looks around in desperate
But everything seems so separate
In abject poverty he lies
Cooking up in his mind how to lie
In order for him not to die

In the distance here comes someone
Who perhaps might be of help
Oops! it is not a pinch of help,
Simply around to make a jest
It is just a shadow of hope
Which fades away in the darkness of agony

In his eyes, is tears of agony
With every dawn of the day in sadness

He moves around with hope
His mind adrift in pain
And soul soaked up in tears
While the body wears and tears

This is the agony of a poor little child
Who looks around for help around in vain
He sees nothing coming except the pain.
Hoping that perhaps one day
All the pains and agony will go
And thus looking for a new era

This is the pain of poor little child
Who wanders around in search for life
With the hope that perhaps some day,
The pains and agony will surely end.
