The Answer
(for Bethany)

If I could harness
The engines of the mind
To gather from all my living,
Everything I’ve seen and heard
As well, from all those giving
Every single written word
That has been saved,
And could pluck
From all their meaning,
An explanation that could
Stop the heart from grieving,
I would build an agile
Ship out of this believing,
So you could
Sail ahead of Darkness
And vanquish sorrow’s
Weak deceivings.
