The Anthem Of Our Dying Days Poem by Milo Lone Elk

The Anthem Of Our Dying Days

Through the passage of time
among the pages untold
with the words forgotten
and the history that men only knows
Will you stare at death and smile like you should
when the angels come
and the darken days are done?

The blueprints of our existence
quietly disappears with the wind
the canvas turns white
shedding no masterpiece of life
within the cracks of these times
the cause is buried with the dead
lost among the starless nights
and forever lost within

The cries are the blackened days
of shouts unheard and cities undone
years has gone astray
with angry tones
of failed politics
of unreachable peace...

The anthem of our dying days
Will you sing the sorrowful song?
along your road to perdition
in the darkest of hours
Will you softly weep to the melody of death?
Or howl the rage of lost creed
in hallow of defeat?

Before your eyes
and the blackness in your hearts
Will the light shed its merciful grace unto you?
Or will the fallen angels take your hand
and lead you down that dark lonely road?

Or are you the angel of love
of pureness and good
Will you deliver me from the evil within?
of all the words written down long ago
Are you the angel that will save me?
To take my hand
across the beautiful meadow
of shaded trees and playful grass
of clear blue waters and soothing rain
Will you lead me across that mountain ahead?
Through the garden of life and the world behind
Will you believe in me
like no one has believed in me before?

Through the passage of time
with our Father of light behold
among the stars in the sky
and from the cries that I have in my soul

Will you dropp to your knees?
Let the merciful light touch your heart
and lift you up in one swift move beyond the stars
and the heavens unknown...

Will you let your light shine,
beyond the horizon and stars above?

Or will you sing the sorrowful song
and join me down that dark lonely road?
