The Asian Union Poem by Rajendran Muthiah

The Asian Union

Don't smirk at the idea
of an Asian Union
like that of the European Union.
The secular India welcomes
and accommodates people of all cults.
But the Islamic nations
won't let the folks of other
religions to live and settle there.
As they swear by the tenets
of their holy Koran
which is immune to changes,
they will convert the new settlers
at the point of gun.
And in a span of five years
hordes of Jigadhis and militants
would trespass our borders
and capture Delhi Parliament
in a cataclysmic showdown
without firing a shot.

Recall how the Hindus upto
Afghanistan were perished or
driven to pray in mosques.
Every tomb of Moghul despots
has a vast stretch of land around it.
When we breathe the air
of freedom and honour
why should we have these
nauseating odour of the tombs?
They are not sacred shrines
to preserve as monuments.
Take over these insulting symbols
of slavery and dictatorship
and open schools and colleges
for the poor students of all folks.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
The idea of Asian Union is unsuitable to India. In India itself the Muslims live separately. Before the formation of Asian Union, the Hindus and Muslims should be united.
COMMENTS OF THE POEM
Veeraiyah Subbulakshmi 12 July 2012

Shall we call it the cry of the Hindus? There are various groups, grouped together for the economic development such as EU, Asean, and many more. What are the countries that can be included in the Asian Union? What is the motive of such formation? What common fator that unites us?
