The Awakening Poem by DEEPAK KUMAR PATTANAYAK

The Awakening

Basking in sweet moments;
Full of warmth and so pleasant
Refreshed with preening stances
Strutting her stuff with arrogant vanity
With self-conceited ego without empathy
Like a God-man above all humanity
Growing ever more swollen-headed and arbitrary
Too swollen to see her duty
Moving ahead to kiss his lively lips
Holding him to her breast so closely
Blinding her inner eye with audacity
Before he dies of light
Dispelling the darkness of ego
Illuminated by the Sun of humility
Oh! how fair it is when you are
Under the influence of ego star
Though part of the waking world
For a moment stay mists looking fair
Like a twinkling star...........
