The Back Of Your Head Is Tiresome Poem by Katherine Rhodes

The Back Of Your Head Is Tiresome

Who knows if you will ever see this
Who knows if you even care
But my heart feels justified
Just knowing that at least it’s there

How many times must I fall
How many times you brush aside
The woman that you say you love
And in me you go to hide

Without question I must follow
Without any nod or ‘please’
So you can care for another’s wish
And make them feel at ease

Why is it that you’re my first thought
Why is it that there is no question
Of whether or not to fulfill your wish
Or perhaps make another suggestion

I’m not saying be disrespectful
I’m not saying be impolite
My feelings just want some recognition
So that I know it is alright
