You`ve played your hand
And played it well.
You`ve showed me darkness and despair
Heartlessly trying to bring me down.
You`ve showed me
Friends can be shadows of trickery
A sword with two edges.

When I wanted compassion
You gave me sadness and solitude
Showing me the dark
Of every human`s heart.
But I still rose,
Through your hellish traps
And everywhere I went
I went with hope in my heart.

Then seeing my happiness
You sent a demon, to do your job
And when I feel for that demon
You cast a wall
Tearing us apart.
You brought disaster
Into my world
And with that big, gruesome smile
You kept saying:
'Just forget about it,
You can never be with her'.

Still, through pain and sorrow,
I rose above you
Fighting with all of my might
But never once did you accept
The freedom in my heart.

Every day you sent your armies,
Armies sent from the deepest hell,
And still I fought them bravely
Never giving up
Always standing tall.

Then you sent your secret weapon
The deadliest of them all,
Even my own destiny
Turned into my enemy.

The soldier could no longer win,
His rival overpowering him
And in front of death
He finally gave in.
His bones were shattered,
His soul weary of the fighting,
His heart broken,
He lost his desire to live.

But your treachery
Didn`t stop there,
You remained heartless
Till the very end.
You showed me that smile again
Saying: 'You don`t deserve to die,
You foolish little boy'.

You left me alone
Covered in darkness
And when a candle lit
You swiftly blew it away.

But you made a mistake,
You didn`t kill me then
And in that darkness
I grew stronger day by day.
When I rose and faced my enemy
I only wished revenge,
I only wished to stop abiding you.
When my destiny
Tried to stop me
I dealt the winning blow.

Only then you had the courage
To finally face me,
Only then you realized
Your fear of me,
Only then you saw me
As the grim reaper, that I became.

Now I wasn`t afraid,
Now I finally told her
What I feel
'I love you, my dear'.

If you ask me now
Why I exist in this world?
I can smile and happily tell you:
'I don`t know,
And I don`t even want to.
All this time trying to find my purpose,
All this time crying when I failed,
All this time darkness awaited me,
That is now gone.
The only reason I need
To keep living on
Is because I´m living
In this moment, right now'.

If you take away my soul, my heart
I will still rise
From those very ashes.
If you take away my speech,
I won`t care
As long as I say
What I have to say.
If you`ll try to take away my pen,
I won`t care
If this is my last poem,
Then let it be my greatest work,
The only thing,
I leave behind.

You`ve asked me many times
And I´ve always answered,
Now it`s my question.
Let me ask you this:
'Is this all you can do? '

You`ve deceived me a million times
But you still couldn`t bring me down,
You`ve challenged me in every step
Yet I still won every time.
Well now it`s my turn,
To challenge you:
'You foolish pitiful life,
Is this all you can do? '

I am here to make a statement,
I am here to stay,
I am no longer afraid,
I know what I have to do
And if you still got something left,
Any trick you`ve hidden for this long,
Come face me,
Come challenge me again,
I will be waiting
To finally bring you down.
