-the Battlefield Called Love- Poem by Kelly Marks

-the Battlefield Called Love-

Rating: 5.0

I’ve walked so far to end up nowhere
Dreamed too long to be woken up
Say I love you but I know you don’t care

The battle’s too long
Weapon’s to dull
Stomach’s empty
Heart is full
Eyes are leaking
Mind is shrieking

Why is everything I once knew
Falling apart because of you?

Loves me, loves me not
As I pluck the petals from a wilted daisy
I thought it could be
I was dreaming baby.

I’m just a shadow of who I used to be
This isn’t me
It can’t be me.

The battle’s too long
But I’ve got to fight a war
But darling, you’re worth fighting for.
