The Beginning Poem by Michael John Cook

The Beginning

Carry me away over this deep blue sea
Let me skim my fingertips across the crest of its waves
Let me feel it's tidal forces competing
Show me the depths of its beauty
Let me float on its sun kissed horizon
Take me to its opposite shore
Let me follow it's endless reach
Carry me to its birth from the river
Let me bathe in its hard battled course
Take me last to its mountainous beginning
Let me drink from its infinite springs
Then carry me back to the place I began
To the shore that first brought it to me
