The Birds I Never Saw Poem by Sameer Daniel Gardner

The Birds I Never Saw

I was walking when something caught my ear,
A twittering of birds heavenly sweet.
A voice so utterly dear,
It tenderly stopped my feet.

I looked up but could see,
Only shaking branches,
Dancing to the birds' melody.

I was the only audience to the musical presentation,
Or perhaps an eavesdropper to a conversation.

I wanted to clap loud enough to create a deafening sound,
But stood silently appearing aimless to anyone around.
For the music deserved an applause equally profound.

I probably seemed mad to some onlookers,
For I was experiencing a fortunate prize.
Music had collided into me,
On its way to paradise.

Successful is what i would call myself,
If in life I can give anybody.
The magical moment of inspiration I got,
From the birds I didn't see.....
