The Black Flag Demonstation Poem by Sandra Martyres

The Black Flag Demonstation

Grey skies greeted him
As he walked off the tarmac
Further down he noticed
A black flag demonstation
And a lot of slogan shouting
He stopped in his tracks
Wondering why they seemed
To be directing their ire at him
He could not fathom the reason
Putting on the stiff upper lip
And a very brave front he walked
Towards the demonstators
All the while wondering if
Had chosen the right path
By going into national politics
He had made no speeches
Nor had he accepted any
Inappropriate expensive garlands
But as he came closer he heard
The shouts very loud and clear
From his own party men and women
'Stop tweeting or we'll ban Twitter'
