The Bleeding Heart Poem by Chuks Kevin Nwaokolo

The Bleeding Heart

My heart is bleeding all over again
I could feel the tears run down my chin
As i trudged down the path of whys
I could hear the cry of an innocent infant
Mommy why? Mommy why? Mommy why?
Oh! i cry the tears that he cried

Where the wind blows remains a mystery
Only nature can call it a journey
A child has been prefaced to the world
And the mother took on, on a different journey
There he stood with tears in his eyes
Unsure where to go from where he stood

Oh! my heart is heavy again

Never met her, but i knew she existed
Just like every other women
She embark on a journey
For nine months she journeyed
She arrived her destination
And now she's no more

Never had the chance to shear her experience
To hold her baby in her arms
And smile the smile of a mother
Oh! tears in my eyes

You are missed
And our hearts are heavy without you
But GOD has a better plan for you now
It's hard for us to comprehend the reason why
But we know you're in a safe hand
Rest in peace...
