The Blessing Of Love Poem by Jane Cai

The Blessing Of Love

Following the holy music
He steps on the golden carpet
Featurely as ever
With longing and dreaming in his eyes

Swinging the wedding veil
She paces arm in arm with father
Graceful as always
With elegance and charm on her confident smile

Father puts her hand in his
Turns around
To hide the feeling of parting

Happy tears wet the groom
With hug warmly soothing father’s mood
Merry smiles peace the bride
With care heartily resting on father’s shoulder

Here comes the lovely angel
With the rings of love
His hands tremble to remove the glove for her
To put on the rings for each other
Then they bend
And kiss the angel
To pass on the message of love

He looks at her
With her hands in his
This woman he has kissed a thousand times in mind
This beauty he has indulged in since first glance
But this moment
How can he carry on

He rolls up the veil carefully
Until he finds himself in her eyes
Reads her smile
And feels her soul
His heart stands still

This beautiful woman
He has been in love with for 6 years
Her shining bright smile
Makes him warm and calm
Makes all those worries, darkness, hesitation
Disappear in the air

This moment
All he can say
“you are my love, love is you”
Touching the hair on her forehead
Then he pulls her into his arms tightly
Kisses her like heaven
Like caressing her deeply into his bosom
Like melting himself thoroughly in her blood

They swear with their hearts
“Only you throughout this life
I will be by your side, love you and support you
Love you more than love myself
Till Death do us part”

They hold the hand of each other
They hold this love of eternal
And move forward
