The Book Of Pain Poem by Iquo Umoh

The Book Of Pain

Alone in the recesses of my heart
I write in the ink of my blood
To show my pain and fears
In my book of pain
There you stand beside me
Watching my every move
Refusing to console me
And stop my book of pain

I ask for your hearts warmth
I know you feel my pain
But why don't you speak
To heal my throbbing ache

The heart searches for reasons
To live life without much passion
To convulse at every stroke
Of the script of the writers heart

You quietly beside me stand
Watching my every move
Alone in the recesses of my heart
As I write my book of pain
