The Book That Stands Alone Poem by Katherine Perry

Like there is water to quench the world's thirst
There is the sun to enlighten the lands
But there is but one book that has enlightened
the world but first
It is the book of counsel, the one and only bible for man

The bible is the guide of our journey
It is the inspiration of our thought
It is what all men alike are yearning
It is the book where Jesus has taught

The bible is our support and comfort in life
It is also our support and comfort in death
It is meant for everyone single, every child, husband
and wife
And it is to where every child of God should be led

In the bible there are testiments of two
One is the old, and one is the new

You can say that in the old, man is reaching up for God
And in the new, God is reaching down for man
If we were smart we would read them both alot
And pray to God to help us understand

It is not said'Believe the bible and you will be saved'
It is said 'Believe in the Lord Jesus Christ and you will be saved

It is written so that we can know Jesus and how he lived on this earth
And it is written so that every man woman and child can know of his
worth

It is the book with words filled
Meant to teach us of God's will

It is the book for the old
It is the book for the youth
It is the book that should be given, not sold
It is the book of truth

SO LOVED____the greatest degree
THE WORLD____the greatest company
THAT HE GAVE____the greatest act
HIS ONLY BEGOTTEN SON____the greatest gift
THAT WHOSOEVER____the greatest opportunity
BELIEVETH____the greatest simplicity
IN HIM____the greatest attraction
SHOULD NOT PERISH____the greatest promise
BUT____the greatest difference
HAVE____the greatest certainty
ETERNAL LIFE____the greatest possession
