The Boy Poem by dianne anderson

The Boy

The boy watched from a distance
At the group outside his home
He wanted to, be with them
Not be here alone

He dreamt of running with them
Of skateboards bikes and fun
He dreamt of playing on the beach under a summers sun

They didn't want him with them
He didn't need to be told
It wasn't that, he was too young
Neither was he too old

Kids just want to run be free
Play games, play ball and talk
He would join in he'd dreamt of that
If only he could walk.
