The Branch Breaks Poem by ian westwood

The Branch Breaks

Rating: 5.0

A spontaneous short poem, entitled, THE BRANCH BREAKS:

THE BRANCH BREAKS:

The branch breaks,
The earth quakes,
The birds fly to unkown destinations.

The child cries,
The mother sighs,
And children die in distant nations.

The tap drips,
The cable trips,
The bomb explodes in all directions.

The night is young,
The moon rises,
The day is long with many guises.

My heart pounds,
My heart aches,
A branch that simply breaks.
