The Breeze Of You - Poem by Ronald Peat

The Breeze Of You

A bird without a shadow
is silk without sunshine.

Did a patch of blue
get lost somewhere?

I think I hear it rattling
in your apron pocket.

Best cut a blue-bird
from out of the sky

to mend that big hole
that's torn in tomorrow.

    Unplanned expulsion. Lost.
Profound in its tale to tell
