The Bride Gives Birth (1)

In righteousness we’ve sought to grow
We’ve sought through Christ the way
We know as bride we need to sow
God’s seed of life today

Of you dear mother, now we speak
Whose breast we suckled long
Take joy that now you children seek
To spread Salvation’s song

No matter where the Father sends
How far we must depart
The love of God we’ve had to share
Hold precious in your heart

You know too well the need is great
The truth we all have heard
In Christ, we dare not come too late
Or fail to share His word

On sound foundations strong and true
Within God’s faithful hands
We’ll still remain in love with you
Both here and far off lands

As cunning as a snake we’ll be
As gentle as a dove
As far as eagles eyes can see
We’ll spread Salvation’s love

We need to plough the hardest field
Quench yet the driest ground
We’ll sow, to reap a mighty yield
Wherever Christ is found

I write, because I’m pregnant too!
With children laden down
I hope one day to be like you
And see them wear a crown
