On the bridge into tomorrow
There sits a ghastly troll.
If you want to reach the other side,
You must pay his monstrous toll.
I sit at bridge's entry
Looking back upon today.
The cost to reach the other side
Is one I fear to pay.
Many travelers pass me by
Unafraid of troll's domain.
They head down bridge's one way pass
Never to be seen again.
But on this side, I tarry
For days and days and days.
But soon enough I face my fear
And stand under troll's grand gaze.
'It's time to pay your hefty toll.
Your burdens: they are mine.
If you want to see tomorrow's sun
All your problems leave behind.'
I spent too much of my life,
With burdens I'd ne'er release.
But when I placed them at troll's feet,
I reached tomorrow in peace.
