The Broken Family 2 Poem by The runner who hides

The Broken Family 2

The Broken Family 3-11-08
A girl and her two brothers, a mom and a dad
Doesn’t sound that bad
A girl who hurts because she lost

She lost her two brothers, her mom and dad
Her older brother was last seen three years ago. He was last known to be in Juvie. She doesn’t miss him like she should. He hit her and now he’s sixteen and she’s fourteen
She thinks about him and wonders if he regrets what he did.

She lost of the few she cares about. She lost him, he’s eleven and in foster care he’s her baby brother. She acted as if she were his mother because she was forced to. She wanted to protect him from the world. But the seven year old girl failed because she was too young to take care of him. She cries because she longs to be close to him again. She wants her baby brother.

She lost her to drugs at first. Cocaine the drug she hates. She made her boyfriend promise her he would never start. It ruined her life and she had never even touched the drug. Her mother abandoned her for her one true love cocaine. Then she lost her to the cell she had to sleep in she had gone to jail. Gone for three years and then she heard the news that’s when she lost her to diabetes. This she had lost her forever she couldn’t come into her life whenever she felt like it. She had died.

She lost him around the time she left.
She lost her daddy to the dying romance between her mommy and him. He’s her step dad and her mommy first marriage. It was dying for sure, slowly but dying. All she needed was to sign her name on the divorce papers.

This girl is me, a young adult now. My first year of high school, I started at a new school two days after my mom died then I moved to a new foster home and to a new school. Part of my past is in my present. This is a piece from my past. I wish things were different but their not so I live with them and I learn from the mistakes they made.
