The Brotherhood. Poem by G.S Ortiz

The Brotherhood.

It was nothing more than a quick flash.

So fast there was nothing he could have done to prepare for it.

It was like a thunder bolt that no one else seemed to notice.

The power of it hit him and practically brought him down to his knees.

No one seemed to notice that the most beautiful woman that God ever created had just entered the room.

He imagined her having a classy name like Evelyn or Paulette.

As his eyes focused through the swirls of cheap cigarette smoke, his heart pounded as she came closer.

She was a stunning tall thin brunette, her hair was long and straight it hardly moved as she walked.

So graceful was her movement she did it effortlessly.

She must have practiced for hours on how to enter a room like that.
He would have to move quickly and get the courage to act.

Her eyes were a beautiful shade of brown.

He could have stared into them for hours willfully sacrificing days in the process.

As she passes the sweet scent of her perfume matched the gracefulness of her movement.

Her hips moved slowly from side to side in a certain good way.

Mesmerized by her backside a shaky voice says hi I'm George.

She doesn't even notice him and probably never will.

She came into his life on a flash of light illuminating what was once dark and void.

No doubt he just became one of the brotherhood of the many men who she unknowingly promised a love that would never be theirs.
