The Bumble Bee And Eyebright. Poem by Stephen Katona

The Bumble Bee And Eyebright.

Rating: 5.0

Thank you for inviting to tea,
This humble bumble bee.
I've never been in the power,
Of such a beautiful flower.
I'll call you Eyebright,
Because you fill my eyes with light.
I am only content,
Around your scent,
Drawing me to your stigma,
How it works is still an enigma.
I just know when you're in bloom,
It's time to put on my furry costume.
I'm such an avid collector,
Of your rare, sweet nectar.
Now please try our honey,
You'll find it's oh so scrummy.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
Eyebright is a beautiful small flower I first photographed in the Austrian Alps many years ago. It is thought to have anti-inflammatory effects.
