The Calling Poem by Matthew Edan Oliver Palma

The Calling

Come and rest on my peaceful breast…
You who are alone…
Come and taste my intoxicating wine…
And drown into my soul…

Look into my eyes and be tempted with delight
Come on and dry your eyes
Ride onto my back
Let’s shoot arrows in the skies
Just let our heartbeats rise

Forget about the truth, the sorrows and the lies
Enjoy the darkness in the light
Come now, be bright
Be witty and be wise
It is a game of lies…

I’ll dare you ‘til the end
Then leave you when you’re down
Don’t wear that foolish frown..

It’s me.. only me
Marching in the rain
Strumming all your pain
My words, with spears are but the same

A masquerading clown
My heart a golden crown
The truth, a mask
Adorned upon my charms…

Come on, let’s play
Let’s sever all the pain
And dance upon the rain..

And when you’ve drowned
In an intoxicating pain
Rest upon my arms
Until I vanish in the haze….
