The Cattle Poem by Oliver .........

The Cattle

When hungry don't think of green,
But think of them,
The heart- dry owners who'll break your
Flesh like shadows in summer around wolds!

How essential intelligence governs you all!
So dont fret of this or, that;
Instead, go on, moon- lustre
In your back wont fade till you're fallen!

Your story is quite gory, unspeakable.
But dont falter, the blood
Gets corrupt as disease or,
Wound in the hearts that ache.

Someone would buy your dreams
In the flesh and bones;
The vitamins which lurk
Too deep within the sinew,
Will dry in the jerk and cut.

Go on, night is fading out,
Your green is alive in the
Meadow to the cry of a child;
You'd go on; she sun of last hope
Is in hurry to wester now;
Go on, might is right,
Don't think of green at all!
