The Cemetery Diptych Poem by Piotr Kasjas

The Cemetery Diptych

1. Dead silence

Silence, dead silence.
Nameless and unreadable,
as these inscriptions,
on one of the cemetery walls.
Who will read them today?
Perhaps only the silent witness - the wind,
who gently chases the leaves,
that covered the frozen time of memories.

2. The wings of an angel

Great are the wings of an angel,
and made of stone is his face,
when it stands proudly in silent vigil,
above the eternal sleep of those,
who are no longer among us.
