The Champion’s Attitude Poem by olawale famodun

The Champion’s Attitude

Am champion,
Consolidate my championship lead.
I’ll only cruise
To my consecutive Grand Prix win,
I’ll only top
One victory with another victory.
Am a winner of
All preceding races,
On the Alps.
On the Atlas,
On the Rockies,
On the Andes,
On the Himalayas.
Even if on a sluggish start
I would recover
Like a river rejuvenated,
Like a leaf living again
From pole to another pole
To take the lead
Within a countless lap,
Donning the helmet of triumph
For the spirituals
With my own face on it
Never let the winning spree
And the winning altitude slip.
Only letting it go
And finish ahead
Watching others slid off
In every sections of
The championships.
