I thought you were being the true you
Doin the things we got to do
Sharing laughter, sharing time
Still you dumped this love of mine

Still you walked right out my door
Leaving me hurt and sad once more
Wondering what I did so wrong
Thinking you knew me all along

But I was wrong you don’t know me
For if you did you would really see
Into my heart and into my soul
And you’d know my truth from long ago

No it is I that has no choice
It is I that has no voice
No sadly it is I that will be
In love with someone that doesn’t know me

In love with someone that wonders each day
If I could take my love away
I never took it just laid it there
A gift for you to show how I care

A gift of my heart for you to have
A gift of my love in hopes you’ll be glad
A gift of my love for all we could do
A gift of my heart to see you through

Just know I think of you everyday
And my tears returned when you went away
And know that I love you to the moon and back
And ask your forgiveness for all that I lack
