The Chicken Chicken Poem by Stephen Katona

The Chicken Chicken

I was born with a yellow belly,
And legs that turn to jelly.

I'll not cross this road,
For fear I'll explode.
It may not look that far,
But it only takes one car.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
The last four lines just happened whilst I was writing a poem called: 'Why Did The Chicken Cross The Playground.'

A far better version is 'Why Did The Chicken Cross The Road' by Ruth Walters which inspired me to write poems about chickens.

She is a wise chicken...! . She knows it is dangerous to cross the road! Human beings lack even this practical wisdom! Cute write, Stephen!
