The Children Poem by John Earing

The Children

I am a vessel of sorts.
I guess I teach a tough crowd.
I can't imagine being as blind as I see.
The people I help are less endowed.

You may think that I tell an untruth.
As society states there is no such thing.
I must insist that today's youth
are less and less interesting.

Political figures throw money at it.
The common man is in denial.
no amount of legal action
can even begin to whittle down the pile.

Now people gripe and get into a tizzy
pointing and meeting all the same.
Groups gather together in secret places
to cast and decide who is to blame.

Our children are our future
they have paid with our forefathers blood
please don't let them rot by the wayside
with the rest of the worthless crud.
