The Clerihew Poem by Jennie Radley

The Clerihew

Edmund Bent-
ley wrote “The Last Case of Trent”.
His middle name was Clerihew,
Rhymes for that are very few.

A clerihew’s strength
Is four lines of unequal length;
You rhyme the first two,
And the last two, too.

Clerihews were first biographic,
Explaining in words few but graphic,
A person’s claim to fame.
Edmund Bentley’s was his middle name.

Well done, a clerihew sequence! (If you've enjoyed this, you may like to look at my '6 Poets'.)
