The Clown In The Circus Poem by Lu Vernezze

The Clown In The Circus

What can i say..
I'm just the clown
Someone to cheer you up
And laugh at when you're down

That's my part
My role in this game of life...
When the odds are stacked again you
I'll role the dice

I'm a lover not a fighter
I'd rather laugh then cry
I don't look further then immortality
And i don't ask questions why

I'm just the clown
I'm just a clown
But what happens when the one who makes you smile
Is the one who's feeling down?

I can't lose my will to live
Or my part in this play
Who will be the one
To take these clouds away

What can i say...
I'm just a clown
I want to cheer you up
I don't want to see you frown

Lifes too short
In this theatre play
but i can't always be the one that's gonna make your day...
But i will try

Just remember at some point in our lives
We all need time
An a shoulder to lean on when we cry
Love from the clown xx
