The Color Of Me Poem by Lydia Thacker

The Color Of Me

Today I am blue,
not one of those sad, wimpy blues
-Cerulean, maybe.
My blue speaks of life lived
with the music of a sea breeze
and an echo of waves against
a sandy beach.
My blue is sharp, cutting,
never as passive as, say,
Periwinkle.
My blue speaks of
calm passion
-Peace, perhaps even hints
at rich green undertones.
Today I am blue.
-Today I smile.
