The Companions Poem by Amna Haleem

They were the greatest of us all
The closest to Rasool Allah
loved and were loved by Allah and His Rasool
They knew the meaning behind pain and loss
They knew what it felt like to be betrayed
And yet never wavered
Through all their hardships and struggles
All the sorrow and pain
Their faith remained intact
And strengthened through the ages

Yet where are we
We live off the pain of others
and have enmity and hatred between us
How are we the chosen people
We have made fools of our selves
Fools of our religion
Which shines brightly while waiting
for our return

So lets once more return
to the way of
The companions.
