The Competition Poem by Christopher G. Turner

The Competition

The eye in the sky
Ever seeing of the vie
His gaze passes by
Will it be a tie?

The light shining bright
Ever illuminating the night
Oh how I just might
Will I win the fight?

Impatiently I await his arrival
Call upon to be his rival
His acts brought about revival
Will I retain my survival?

I sit staring at the glare
For I begin to wonder where
Came this uncommon pair
Will this man fight fair?

Through these thoughts I wend
For what is soon to impend
I surely must attend
Will I accede or contend?
