The Connection Poem by michele kostelnik

The Connection

Rating: 4.8

Your touch surrounds me, drawing deep into
That quiet tomb of sorrow,
Touching deep into yesterday - yet fearful
Of tomorrow.
Our intimacy paralyzes me, icy fingers
Grasp me - so cold!
My heart cries out, is it you that I hold?
Bitter sweet are my memories of you,
Nothing can bring us together - I know
This is true.
You cut my heart out and left me in a daze.
The dark wine we drank that night brings
Me to a maze.
How far away from me are you tonight and
Do you feel me near?
Very far - Very far your voice whispers in my ear.
Our quiet love has gone beyond the sky.
I search for you on warm nights in every firefly.
There - I see your face on a great star,
We are again lovers beautiful by far.
Sleep my love, I'll come to you in your dreams.
We will sit and talk about all our own fine schemes.
