The Crown On Your Head Poem by Michael Reston

The Crown On Your Head

enchanted light and a green willowy dew
the crisp white flower, a star of venus on your brow
your eyes as elven as they are now
your body as fully formed and femalleable

as you walk, you are carried by the breath of the wind
when you speak it's the voices of thunder and melancholy
your smile is as warm and giving of a sprig of holly
and your fingertips radiate a soft clean light

among the things that make you happy are the rain
the forest, the sunshine, and the cleanliness of good earth
the water that makes a sparkle in your eyes
and the air as it breezes, flowing through a clean wood

you favorite feeling is the cool moonlight
and your heart is full of romance for this evening
that has been known as your calling
