The Crush Poem by Adele Katie Bowling

The Crush

When we were far apart
You almost slipped my mind
But I could still remember
That you were super cute
Once I found your notebook
Scented with cologne
I put it in my backpack
And now it's in my room

When I finally got your number
I was so excited
I guess I had forgotten
You still had a girlfriend
When I called you on your cell phone
I had so much to say
But your girlfriend answered
So all I said was "Hey"
I hung up and was listening
To a few Taylor Swift tunes
"Teardrops On My Guitar" came on
That was when I knew

I was wasting all my time
I burned my crush's number
And got some sleep that night
I stopped getting your attention
Whenever I could
Then you broke up with your girlfriend
I heard you cheated her
That's when you approached me
And asked me for a date
But I told you you were stupid
And slapped you in the face

Now I think that you should know
That all the exes you rejected
All those the girls you hurt
Are having fun as my besties
It's too late for forgiveness
You've caused too much pain
So this is goodbye from us
We hope you have a nice life
